For routine office visits, minor surgical procedures and all cosmetic procedures, payment will be expected at the time of service.
Payment is expected before cosmetic procedures are performed. All co-pays are also expected at the time of the visit. This may be made by cash, check, VISA/Mastercard, AMEX, or Discover. Our practice utilizes the Telecheck system for all check approvals. There will be a $30.00 charge for all returned checks. In an effort to control the cost of medical care, Atlanta West Dermatology participates with Medicare, as well as a number of area HMO’s and PPO’s, and the office will file these claims for you. All of these charges are adjusted by Medicare or the managed care plan, which usually covers approximately 80% of the adjusted charges. The patient is responsible for the remainder or any unmet deductible. Our insurance department will be able to verify your benefits prior to your appointment, and the balance is expected at the time of service. Failure to pay your balance in full at the time of service will result in an additional $50.00 fee. If you have two insurance policies, please give the information for both to the staff. In many cases, we will file both insurances for you. There is no charge for this assistance.
